Upcoming international educational initiative coordinated by Prof. Dionysios Papachristou, MD, PhD, Pathologist, Coordinator Greek Sarcoma Group of EEPA, GS of the Hellenic Group of Sarcomas and Rare Cancers (HGSRC/EOSSO) and Dr. Sílvia Bagué, MD, PhD, Consultant Pathologist, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona / Spanish Sarcoma Group/Spanish Research Sarcoma Group (GEIS). 

This project, titled N.O.D.E. (Network on Osteopathology Diagnosis and Education), is envisioned as a free, Zoom-based educational program conducted in English on a bimonthly basis. Its main objective is to promote excellence in the diagnosis, understanding and management of bone sarcomas and related conditions through knowledge-sharing and continuing education across Europe and beyond.

The session will include:

  • Lectures from expert pathologists in the field
  • Case-based slide reviews in real time and  slide seminars
  • Multidisciplinary commentary
  • A short “trainee spotlight” presentation

The series is primarily intended for practicing pathologists and physicians/scientists  from all the specialties with a special interest in musculoskeletal diseases.

The core aims are to: 

  • promote diagnostic excellence and foster collaboration between pathologists and other specialties in Europe and world widely
  • support early-career pathologists and physicians from other specialties (oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, radiotherapists)  who are willing to be exposed to bone pathology
  • present and discuss in real time interesting and challenging cases with experts from all the bone-related specialties, in a MTB-fashion  

The educational series on Tuesday, October 21st, 202516.00 (CET) with our first invited speaker, Prof. Petur Nielsen (Harvard Medical School, Director of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, USA),topic: “Giant cell – rich lesions of bone”.

The lecture is free of charge.
